Model Number: FEF380MXDCA Brand: Frigidaire Age: Less than 1 year
My wife says there was a loud pop and she saw a spark coming from the vent area. It tripped the breaker. The stove top works but the oven does not. I was looking for an error code "F1" or something but the only thing on the display is an 8, the bake light and the bake time light.
I check the sensor and both elements for continuity. They are fine. The only signs of any sparking was the oven light but that's on a different circuit.Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Ads By Google Related Models |

Here are your parts
Parts for Frigidaire FEF380MXDCA Range - AppliancePartsPros.com Here is the wiring diagram http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodin.../316255354.pdf First you should find out what/why it popped and repair any damage if there is any re: a blown lamp socket. etc. The only signs of any sparking was the oven light but that's on a different circuit. No. The control board is on the same circuit as the light they both run off of the L1 to Neutral side of the line. Try unplugging/removing power from the unit for a couple minutes to see if the control board will reset. If not then odds are that the control board is toast. The pop would have created an electrical spike and this can blow electronic parts on the board.

So you think it could be the lamp socket?
No I do not think that the lamp socket is the cause of the current problem. You said that "The only signs of any sparking was the oven light" so I assumed that it had shorted out for some reason and that you should check it for damage. You have to find out what shorted out to cause the pop. Then you can move on to the current problem with the control board.
