Model Number: ARG7102 Brand: Amana Age: More than 10 years
I have a Amana ARG7102 Gas Range Stove that is over 10 years old.
Problem started when I would turn on oven, both oven and broiler worked, only would smell gas when oven was on. After instalation of New Bake Ignitor, the ignitor does not want to work. Removed ignitor, and checked with OHM Meter for cont. , ignitor showed that it was good. As of now, no gas smell when oven is turned on, oven does not work, however broiler does work and so does burners on top of stove. Not sure what is causing this. Ads By Google Related Models |

Hi John,
Check for 120 VAC to the Bake igniter while the control calls for bake. If the reading is correct but the igniter does not glow, the igniter is bad. If the reading is incorrect, check for continuity between the gas valve terminals for the Bake. If there is no continuity, replace the gas valve. If the reading is correct, replace the oven control board. - The Bake igniter Part number: 31940001 - The gas safety valve Part number: Y0316220 - The oven control board Part number: 31864501 Gene.

Gene, Thanks for the info. I just have a question about from where to access the igniter's connection for testing, i have two wire nuts all the way in back lower oven, very close to metal. it would be dificult to get a meter in there (with both wire nuts off) to test, (Do I have to turn oven on?) in order to get 120vac at the connection?
What would happen if I accidently grounded one of the leads for the bake igniter? Thanks again John |

Hi John,
You said you already replaced that igniter. If the access to wires is so hard then you may want to check the wires connections first. It is possible that it does not work just because of loose connection. Check it and post the results. Gene.
