Model Number: PLEB30T8ACA Brand: Frigidaire Age: More than 10 years
Last night my wife decided to incinerate some bread in the upper over... I mean burnt black! She then tried to initiate a cleaning cycle which lead to a persistent F8 fault which I tired to clear by cutting power at the circuit breaker.
Of note is that in the past at some point the upper oven light quit working by the door switch (light button would turn it on). The plunger to the switch is stuck "in", I pried out the switch and see that the housing and connector are "melted". The oven had worked normally in this condition and I simply used the button to turn on the light. I found this forum and a post by "Gene" about a similar situation and that this could be related to the door lock motor. My question is if the door switch (3 wires) has any interaction with the door lock controls? My thought is that the request for a cleaning cycle triggered a fault due to the bad switch which was previously unknown... Thanks in advance for any help! Jeremy. Ads By Google Related Models |

Parts for Frigidaire PLEB30T8ACA Wall Oven - AppliancePartsPros.com Here is the wiring diagram http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodin.../318046110.pdf Yes the switch may be the problem. If you look at the wiring diagram you will see that it's NO (normally open) side is in the lock motor circuit. Does the convection fan run? It is also on the NO side so iff it does not run then the switch is bad.
