We have a Maytag electric oven, Model No. ECWE900, that keeps turning off. However, we can turn it back on. The longer it is on the longer it stays on. But when it is first turned on it continually turns itself off. How do I fix this problem.

Here are your parts
Parts for Maytag ECWE900 Wall Oven - AppliancePartsPros.com

What exactly is turning off?

Could be e thermal cut-out is shutting the elements off.
Unfortunately this is an old unit and the parts breakdown is not very good.
I see 2 thermal switches Items 5 and 11 in the Burner Box Parts section but cannot tell what they are doing. One is probably for the fan so the other may be for the elements.
Also if the fan does not come on it could cause this switch to trip.

Get an oven thermometer so you can see what the actual oven temperature is, just in case it is actually overheating.

See the attachment for some info from a manual that supposedly covers this unit
