Default Gas Oven problem
Model Number: 317B6034   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
I have a Kenmore oven that appears to be experiencing a problem. When I turn the oven on bake, the heating element will light and the gas will flow through the tube. Once the flame starts, you can hear the gas flowing to the burner. This is when the problem starts. The flame begins to pulsate as if the gas is not continueously flowing. the flame seems to be sputtering.

I turned the bottom element off of bake and set the oven to broil. Everything appears to be working fine when in this setting.

I did check to see if any of the flame holes were blocked. They all appear to be open.

Kenmore Modle #362.75876691 ser#8f228304p

Could it be the Pressure regulator or the the gas value. There is no problem with the Broiler or the top burners, just the bottom of the oven. It sounds as if the gas is not flowing continuously to the bottom burner.

Thanks

Very likely the problem is a bad gas safety valve while there is a very small chance for the Bake igniter to cause such problem as well.

- The gas safety valve Part number: AP2022753

Part number: AP2022753

hello, just wanted to know if it was the gas safety valve? i have the same model with the exact same problem. the valve is over 150.00 and if it means i just scrap the range and buy new that would be fine.
