GE Electric Oven F3 and F2 Error Code
Model Number: JKP15AV1AA Brand:

I have been getting F3 and F2 error codes out of my GE Electric Oven for years. I finally figured it out and here is the fix. Symptoms were that F3 or F2 error code would get set after the unit had been on for a while. Its a simple fix. I'm posting this because there are many posts on this forum attempting to deal with the problem.
Please refer to the attached photo showing the faulty soldering joint on the circuit board of the oven controller. The arrows point to the posts for the thermometer wires. I melted the two existing solder joints and added a little more solder using a small soldering iron (17watts).
Obviously you need to remove the oven from the power supply. Remove the top cover. There is a plastic ribbon to the oven controller that I removed. (That is the only cable I removed - no others are needed. The reason I removed it was because I didn't want it to bend, thus possibly breaking a brittle part.) To remove it, squeeze the tabs. Then it slides out. There are four screws holding the controller to the front panel. Remove those. Now the controller is accessible. There are tabs that hold the plastic cover that goes between the front panel and controller. Squeeze them and the plastic cover comes off. There are two plastic covers that go around the two circuit boards. Remove the top one. Now you see what you see in the photo and it is as easy as letting the significant other bake an apple pie!
