Model Number: SF196LEPB Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
Ok so Christmas Eve we cooked all day with no problems, and then Christmas came and I couldn't get the oven to start.
il will go to pre heat the oven and I can hear it click three times, and I can hear the GAS coming through and even smell it but it wont ignite. I have even let it go through the cycle to try and start 3 times ( 1 min) apart but it still wont ignite, and the smell of gas is strong. Any one have any ideas what part I will need to replace or anything I can do beside getting a new stove? Ads By Google Related Models |

Hi.
Remove the bottom cover, burner baffle and check if there is a spark or it's only the click you hear. If there is no spark - check the spark cable and replace the spark control board Part number: W10331686 If there is a spark - check the ignitor alignment, clean the ignitor with isopropyl alcohol, replace the burner Part number: 9758078 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Manifold parts for Whirlpool SF196LEPB0 - AppliancePartsPros.com Post the results. Simon.

ok so the top thing has a spark but the bottom one does not have a spark.
one out of I would say 10 trys the bottom one gets a spark and will ignite. if I put a flame next to the burner while its trying to ignite it will light, so does that mean I need a new spark controle board? |
