A model number may help others help you.
Find your model number - AppliancePartsPros.com

Also I do not quite understand your post.

Usually if an element goes on and stays on as you said your's does, the oven will overheat.
Could you explain what is happening re: is it on full, is it cycling' does the broiler element ever come on etc.?

Sorry but I cannot find any info on the given model number.
Tried AppliancePartsPros and the Maytag site
All that comes up with WER without and numbers is a couple dryers.
Please check the model number.

Also if this is a non USA model odds are I will not be able to find info.

I did look up F1 for Maytag but there are a bunch of them depending on the unit.
