Hi!!

Having a bit of trouble with my oven. For some reason, when you set the temperature, the oven ignores the setting and just keeps heating up. A few days ago, I tried it and it got to about 600 degrees, and the F3 E2 code came up. I changed the sensor, and it still does the same. Is it same to assume that the control board is toast (pun intended, lol). Or is there something else that might be the cause?

On a related note, what usually goes wrong with control boards? What is usually the biggest culprit with these bad boards? Figured I'd give it a try and see what was wrong with it. I mean, if it is dead, no harm done )

Yes it sounds like the control board is toast.
I am assuming that the control comes out of preheat (comes ready) but just keeps heating up.

Hard to say what is wrong with the control board.
Manufacturers do not publish schematics of the boards so it makes it difficult to troubleshoot.

Take a look at the elements as it heats up.
If one of the elements comes on and stays on then that is the probable cause.
The elements should cycle back and forth in preheat and bake cycles.

Could be that the electronics for that relay are screwed up and are keeping the relay closed all the time.

Could also be that the relay's contacts are welded together so it is on whenever the DLB relay closes.

If it is welded contacts you could try cleaning the contacts but this probably will not last too long.
You could get the numbers off the relay and replace it thiough finding one may be a pain.
Digikey does stock some of these relays.
