We have a 6 year old builder installed Whirlpool Gold Accubake gas range. A few years ago (and a few times since then) we had a lightning strike that knocked out some of the control functionality. The oven however has worked normally except that it would occasionally kick off and lock out but we were able to turn it back on after unlocking it....until the last few weeks. It has been taking longer and longer to pre-heat and today it will not light at all. Neither the broiled nor the bake will light. On broil we can hear 2 loud clicks but no gas flow, and see no flame. On bake it does nothing at all, no clicking, no visible spark (we removed the bottom pan to check for spark) and thankfully we hear no gas flowing.

Is this all related to the control board and upon replacing that all will function normally again or are we looking at multiple issues? I am comfortable replacing the control board myself, but not so comfortable with the gas components if that is a secondary issue. What we don't want is to order and install the control board, and THEN have to call Whirlpool for service anyway....any advice please?

Thanks:confused:
