Ok, I haven't seen this before...oven light works properly when door opened and closed, with switch, no problem. Then I heat the oven and cook and the light quits responding to door, switch completely. No light. Then, let the oven cool after cooking and bam! It works again flawlessly. This is a Frigidaire electric oven.

If the light is a standard 40 watt incandescent bulb, remove power/unplug the unit. Remove the bulb and you will see a center contact in the receptacle. Many of these are a small tab, carefully bend this tab up. Be very gentle as you do not want to break it. Now give it a try.
You could try replacing the bulb just to be sure it does not have an internal problem.
Next would be to check the connectors going to the bulb receptacle.
Next would be to replace the door switch.
You did not include a model number so I do not know if the oven light is controller thru the control board but that is another possibility. |
