XL44 Igniter Replacement Help
Hello,
I need to replace my igniter for my oven and I have gotten to the step of actually removing thr old one. On my stove the two nuts holding the igniter to the gas tube are hard to access and I believe I can just remove the entire tube and igniter as once piece, then reassemble. But before I do, I want to make sure this possible, and that I am doing it correctly. Assuming I have the flame spreader off, the screw attaching the gas tube on the front of the oven is off as well. Below the oven, where the wires lead it appears the gas tube is held on by a collar nut where the gas feeds into it. If I remove that while I be able to accomplish my goal? Or is it better to try and remove the igniter from the gas tube attached? The collar nut Im referring to is part number 216. Which is holding part number 215 and the gas tube down to the gas supply line. |

You are on the right track. After you will remove that nut, carefully bend the gas tube down until it moves out of the burner tube. It will let you to move the burner in any directions. The burner is also secured to the back wall by the two screws which have to be unscrewed too. You also can use aftermarket igniter which is exact replacement for the GE part and can save you some money. - The GE oven igniter Part number: WB2X9154 - The aftermarket oven igniter Part number: AP4503139 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Parts for GE JGB26WEA1WW Range - AppliancePartsPros.com Gene. |
