Both my GE built-in microwave oven and GE Profile Gas slide-in range stopped working within a wk of eachother. A pot on top of the stove overheated (water burned out) and was red hot and smoke everywhere.
Now, I have replaced the magnetron in the microwave only to find out the old one still worked-tighted the door instead and oven heated up just fine.
The range oven would not heat up past 100, however, the broiler came on fine. I have replaced the oven ignitor and the oven still will not heat beyond 100. I turned the broiler on for 3 minutes-turned off-then preset the oven for 400 to test . This time the control panel heated up to 103 degrees-assuming the 3 degrees was from the broiler being on for a few minutes.
So, do you think I need an oven sensor or is something wrong with the Electronic Panel Oven Control? And could any of this have something to do with the incident of the burning pot on the surface burner?
