Model Number: JGS968S0H3SS Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
I kept on smelling gas while the oven was on so I figured I had an ignitor that went.. I replaced no problem... (thanks guys)
It worked for some time now, but I seem to have got another problem. There is too much gas being released in the oven when I first put it on. I motly hear a big whoosh and some times the door pots a bit. Is it the ignitor, the gas safety valve or something else. Any help would be appreciated Thanks Ads By Google Related Models |

Hello,
There are two igniters in the oven: Bake and Broil. Which one and when did you replace? Here are the breakdown diagrams and Parts for GE JGS968SH3SS Range - AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

Visually inspect the bake burner for any blocked and/or burned through flame holes. Make sure the igniter is properly aligned with the burner lighting holes.
If there is nothing wrong then most likely the igniter is bad. - The oven igniter Part number: WB13T10045 Gene.

The igniter and the burner tube should be parallel.

I have no idea. Average live time for oven igniter should be 2-3 years or even more.

Remove the oven floor and the flame spreader. You probably did it before when you replaced the igniter?
The normal reading should be more than 3.2 amps. Gene.
