Hi Steve,

If you replaced the oven thermostat with the brand new part

and the oven does not shut off, it could be the defective part or shorted wires to the oven igniter.

Check if the oven will go off with one of the wires disconnected from the oven thermostat.

If it would then you have to contact the place supplied the part for the warranty exchange.

Otherwise check the wires and the proper electrical connection at the power cord. The black wire should be connected to the hot line and the white wire should be connected to the neutral line.

- The part number for the oven thermostat is AP2623073

It shuts off when you rotate the knob to the off position, but does not shut off when it reaches set temp. Wiring is fine.

Hi Steve,

Most likely the oven thermostat is defective.

Who ever sold it has to exchange it under the warranty.

Gene.
