Model Number: jgs968 Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
how do i remove the burner & igniter?

Hi.
Remove the burner cap, burner head. Take out two screws holding the burner base and pull it out. The ignitor is held in place by the clip. Simon.

RE:jgs968shss stove top igniter removal
the igniter seems to be locked on the glass top preventing removing the burnner after taking out the burnner screws, Is it necessary to lift the glass top to get to a clip or some type of retainer?

I don't think so. Try to use the putty knife to cut around the base.
