We have a GE Profile XL44 that takes about 30 min or longer to heat to 350F. The ignitor glows when set, but takes several minutes or longer to actually ignite the gas. Then the flame comes on and off throughout the heatup. The flame pulsates on/off in approximately three second pulses on then off. Eventually the oven heats up but it takes a relatively long time to reach setpoint. What could be causing this issue?
Thanks for the help.
Ron

Hi.
You will need the amp meter to check the ignitor's amp draw. For proper operations it should be minimum of 3.25Amp.
Please provide the complete model number of the range.

The model # JGBP79BEB6BB
What's the ideal way to measure the igniter amperage? I have a meter and know basic electronics. Although, this will be my first attempt at troubleshooting a gas range, but I've worked on washers/dryers and vacuum cleaners on more than a few occasions.
Thanks for your help Simon.

Hi.
If you have the clamp on amp meter lock it over one ignitor's wire and turn the oven on.
Simon.
