Problems folowing ignitor replacement.
Model Number: 31hn-10kxs Brand: Magic Chef Age: More than 10 years
Our oven wouldn't light. The ignitor was replaced and the oven lit right up. Now during the cooking cycle it seems like when the gas cycles off then back on there is a small explosion (for lack of a better term) a bang and flash visible when the door was open. Needless to say that was the only time following the ignitor repair that the oven was used. I'm looking for some troubleshooting help.

HI.
Make sure the ignitor is mounted as close to the burner as possible. Next check if the pilot holes in the burner are all open and clean and the burner itself is not damaged. Make sure that the burner ignites on the both sides right away. Clean and adjust if needed. Be careful not to stand in front of the oven when it's igniting!!! Post the results. Simon.
