Default Frigidaire light switch
Model Number: fefl88aca   Brand: Frigidaire   Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi,
I have a Frigidaire electric oven model NO: FEFL88ACA.

Recently the oven light has remained permanently on. After some fiddling with the door plunger it has not changed. I assume that the switch has broken? The wire plunger attaches to the switch at the back.

advice please?

Here are your parts includes a wiring diagram.
Parts for Frigidaire FEFL88ACA Range - AppliancePartsPros.com

I assume that the switch has broken?

I agree with you, at least it is a place to start. If it (item 12 in the Body Parts section) is OK then odds are the problem is on the control board.

The wire plunger attaches to the switch at the back.
Not sure what you are referring to. If you are taking about the rod (Item 88 in the Body Parts section), this is for the latch and it's motor not the light switch.

Hi,
I swapped the switch (12) today and the problem is still there. What does this mean now? The board has to be replaced?
Thanks.

Yes it does sound like the board.
I would check the wiring to/from the light.

It should not be difficult to replace, should be able to get at it from the back.
Be sure to mark or change one wire at a time if there is any possibility of a mix up when reconnecting.

Also you may need a new overlay but from the board or overlay picture, I cannot tell if it is the peel and stick type.
