broiler comes on by itself
Model Number: plcf489acb Brand: Frigidaire Age: 5 - 10 years
Hi, We came home to smoke detectors going off. The display on the stove was flashing f3 . The broiler was glowing orange and no lit up display indicating the broiler was on. The oven would not shut off by hitting clear,I had to shut it off at the breakers.After it cooled down i reset the breakers,went up and reset the clock,two minutes later the broiler element is glowing orange. We have it shut off at the breakers now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks John.

Here are your parts
Parts for Frigidaire PLCF489ACB Range - AppliancePartsPros.com Here is the wiring diagram http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodin.../318045314.pdf Since the element came on by itself I would say that your clock/timer (item 20 in the Backguard Parts section is toast. The electronics that control the broil relay are holding it energized all the time. The F3 code is for an open oven sensor but this may just have been because the oven was overly hot.
