Default replace GE oven element
Model Number: JKP44   Brand: GE   Age: More than 10 years

Is it fairly easy to replace an element on a GE oven where there appears to be rachets screws holding in the prongs? Do you just unscrew the nuts and will the prongs release? then you insert the new element and retighten the nuts?

Remove the screws holding the heat element and carefully pull it out as far as the wires go.

Remove the wires from the heating element terminals and attach them to the new heating element.

Install the heating element back and screw it in place.

If you need the right part number for the heating element - post the complete model number of the oven.

Gene.

I do not think you need any special tools, may be WD-40.

DO NOT FORGET TO REMOVE THE POWER FIRST!

Gene.
