My GE Profile range lower oven quit working. Everything else works fine. I've replaced the control broad and the thermostat switch, still nothing. I can hear the control knob clicking but no red lights and no oven.

Per the Owners Manual (page 32) the lower oven drawer can not be used during a self clean cycle of the upper oven. That's why the power to the thermostat and the indicator lights is coming through the latch switch.

If the lower oven drawer does not work alone and you already replaced the thermostat then the next step is to replace the latch assembly (the latch switch does not come separate). The instructions on how to remove it you can find in the attached mini-manual.

Come to think of it, we did have a problem with the self cleaning latch. I wasn't aware that the power to the lower oven came through it. I will investigate. Thank you very much.

Yes, the self cleaning latch was the problem. The latch had been jimmied a while ago and the cam wasn't closing the micro-switch. I manually closed the micro-switch and the lower oven came to life again. I will order a new latch assembly. Thank you again.
