Oven and broiler elements will not heat
Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
Kenmore 790.96334504. Panel indicates oven is on and preheating. Stays in preheat mode. Neither element heats. Cleaning cycle does heat.

Hi.
Unplug the unit. Open the control panel and using the multimeter check continuity between pins 9 (Gray) and 10 (Orange) at the control board. If you read infinity - replace the control, if < then 1ohm - the door latch switch is closed and should be replaced Part number: 316405800 The control board Part number: 316557238 Post the results. Checked the continuity between pins 9 & 10 on the control panel. Reading was infinity, which indicates control panel should be replaced. Put it back together (so we could use the stove while awaiting the part) and the oven operated normally. I allowed it to cool and turned it on again, and it again worked normally.
