Default Gas ignitor
Model Number: SF365BEYQ2   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: More than 10 years

I purchased part # AP3119495 and it arrived today. It does not appear to have the same size terminals or the same number of terminals as the old ignitor. I spoke to the on-line help and they confirmed that it is the correct part. The manufacturer dicontinued the original and replaced it with this. Before I open plastic package and cut the neutral wire, I would like some more assurance that these terminals will fit properly. My old ignitor looks just like the diagram with a connector and three terminals. Only two terminals were provided with this new part. Otherwise the ignitor itself looks identical. As you know, I cannot return my purchase after I try to install. Please help!

If you can post a picture of the old igniter terminals it might help to provide the most accurate advise.

Gene.

there should be 2 wires going to porcelan part of your old ignitor.these are the wires you should be concerned with. cut +strip back wires there +join to new ignitor wit porcelan twist on connnectors that came with new ignitor.the rest of the wiring you are talking about probably goes to valve ,

I think I have the same issue. What was the end result? My concern is the wire hook ups will be different.
