Model Number: JBP66D M2BB Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
Tonight when I turned on the front left burner of my oven after about a min or so I heard a pop and walked over to the stove. It did it again and I saw sparks shoot out from just underneath the control panel area of the oven accompanied by smoke.
After turning that burner off immediately I noticed shortly after that, that burner would no longer turn off and was essentially stuck on a low heat setting even though the knob was turned to Off. Any thoughts? Advice? Anything is appreciated. My goal hopefully would be for to be able to fix it cheap. I unfortunately can't afford an expensive repair bill nor afford to buy a new oven right now. Thanks in advance. Ads By Google Related Models |

Hi.
Unplug the unit, open the control panel and check the damage. Most likely there is short in the wiring and also you need to replace the burner infinite switch Part number: WB24T10146 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for General Electric JBP66DM2BB ELECTRIC RANGE | AppliancePartsPros.com Thank you. So I opened it up to check it out and there was a small amount of charring or burning on the bottom right hand corner of the the affected unit. Not sure if this still leads you to believe the original part you suggested is the right one. I've attached two photos, hopefully they'll help.
