:) My 5 1/4 inch ceramic igniter was replaced by an appliance repair guy with a shorter 2 1/2 or 3 inch ceramic igniter. It works! but my concern is the opening in the back of the oven which is 1 1/4 by 3/4 inch. the old 5 1/4 inch ceramic igniter fit into that hole. the new shorter one does not reach the hole and is open. I see the wires from the igniter going through the hole. is this a safety/fire hazard? does it matter if the hole is left open or should it be replaced by a 5 inch ceramic igniter to act as a heat shield. The appliance guy told me it should be okay and not to worry about it. But I thought I should double check with you guys. Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you!
