Model Number: sf303pekq0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
I was baking last week at 350 degrees. My infant son touched the outer part of the door for a brief moment. It gave him second degree burns on two of his fingers. I called a repairman out to check it out. He pretty much told me that it shouldn't get that hot to cause a burn. Is it normal for an oven door to get that hot? Should the door or insulation be replaced?

Most modern oven doors have air slots on the top and bottom for air to circulate and prevent the door from getting hot. These may be blocked, or you may have a bad door seal. If a bad seal and your electronic control is near the top of the door, get it fixed real soon as it will eventually destroy the control.
