Model Number: KGSA906PBL00 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 5 - 10 years
My oven isn't working, neither broiler nor oven light, but I get two clicks with the broiler and not with the oven. Gas to cooktop is fine. Based on all the info we read on the website it's the spark ignitor on the oven or the gas valve (p/n 9763716). We went to get the valve because we checked the Ohms and the when putting the tester on the common/broil it's a high no and common to oven was low. I read somewhere they both had to be 216 Ohms (approx - can't remember the exact no.). Guy at parts store said they don't usually go bad and to take the part off of the oven and test the continuity.... Does this make sense? If it tests wrong hooked up then it's not going to work when you disconnect it? is it? also, do you test continuity in the same spots as the Ohms? How do you test the spark ignitor? Thanks,

Hi Bill,
That's absolutely wrong. The problem with that gas valve is one of the most common issues with such ovens. You can find more useful information in one of our previous threads: Whirlpool Oven won't heat up - The oven gas valve Part number: 9763716 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Whirlpool KGSA906PBL00 30" Slide-In GAS OVEN CONVECTION | AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.
