Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

Simon,
I have removed all of the screws to the Burner Bases on the Cook Top and none of them will lift out because the #13 burner electrode appears to be held from under the cook top with the #168 Clip Electrode. All the Bases wiggle, but the electrode keeps them fastened down. I can't see any way to get the electrodes loose from above.

Will the cook top, along with the lossened Burner Bases and electrodes just pop up if I pry along the front of the cook top and try to lift it up and how much force should I apply? Or is something else need to be disconnected in order to get the cook top open.

Once I can get the Cook top off, It looks like a simple swap out. Oh yeah, if I ever have to replace a electrode it appears I need to get to them from under the Cook Top also.

New: I tried to gently pry - no good. The electrodes don't budge. Do I need to remove the front panel and what is the procedure for that? It looks like 4 screws but what about the controls.

I know I am guessing a lot. Basically how do I get the cook top raised in order to repair anything under it?

Thanks,

Ken

Hi.

Use the putty knife to open the two clips holding the top (one on each side above the control panel).
