Default Frigidaire f10 code
Model Number: PLES389ECI   Brand: Frigidaire   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

Our oven gets extremely hot then starts beeping and flashing a f10 error code. I have to flip the breaker to get it to stop. It will cook a turkey in an hour and a frozen pizza in about 5 minutes. I've read post with different answers from control panel issues to temp probe issues. They didn't say that their oven got extremely hot though. I think the run away f10 code is correct but what do I fix to keep it from getting so hot?

ok, the kitty litter didn't work and now it isn't even flashing the F10 code, it is just tripping the breaker.

Do you think the temp probe is an issue? Thanks

Hi.

When you turn the oven off at the control board and it's still heating up that means the relay in the control stock.

Check the oven sensor using the multimeter set to 10 kohm.
At room temperature the resistance should be about 1100 ohm.
The sensor Part number: 316217002

Part number: 316217002

It doesn't continue to heat up when we turn it off, it just gets real hot when you have it on, no matter what temp you have it set on. Then it gets so hot it would start flashing the f10 code and beeping and now it is flipping the breaker. Do you think it would be in my best interest to get an expert out or just change the control panel? I'm definitely capable of doing it, i just don't want to spend a bunch of money replacing things if i don't need too.

Hi.

Check the oven sensor as I suggested first and if it's OK - replace the control board.

If you don't feel comfortable about this - call a pro.

Ok the temp sensor was fine and I replaced the control panel. The old one had a burned spot around one of the plugs on the back which was obviously the issue. I plugged in the new one and everything seemed to be fine. We tried to use it today and after about 5 minutes the breaker tripped and the oven was off. What does that sound like now? I was thinking a short somewhere.

Hi.

Check all three elements (specially the convection).
Trace the wires, check if any connections and plugs are loose.
If no problem will be found you may consider the circuit breaker.
