The upper oven (convection) does not heat evenly, has never heated evenly. I follow the manual instructions as to where to put the racks to use all three trays for cookies and each tray has uncooked and burnt cookies on it. I've even tried using just two racks, and then just one rack...same result.
I bought a convection oven on purpose so that I could bake muliple racks in the same amount of time.
I've had service out multiple times...no fix, just suggestions. They are coming again today. I want the convection oven I paid for not a regular oven.
Help.
PS...I bought it just over a year ago. And since I've been communicating with service the entire time, they are covering service.

Have you preheated the oven to the proper temperature before put trays inside?

Gene.

Debbie,

Sorry for the delay. This is very strange and I'm stumped at this point. Maybe somebody else on the forum can help you better.

Gene.

Gene,
Thanks. No one else has replied. We learned this week that our oven has only top and bottom elements with a fan, no element by the fan. The display shows the element, lit even, but it's not part of my oven.
The repairmen (GE) keep coming and adjusting the temp and giving suggestions. The last repairman expected the element and looked for it. He and the engineer (on the phone) both determined it's odd that this model doesn't have it, and even more odd that it shows it on the display.
GE is sending the repairman out again this week. He needs to call customer relations and report this info. Hopefully they make the oven the same as the display. Afterall that's what I thought I bought, and what I paid for.
I'm nervous about this.
Thanks for replying. But, it's not fixable....
