Hi everyone -

Newbie post, so if I am missing some posting protocol, I apologize in advance...

So, my igniter is hosed. I have the new one sitting here. I have found and detached the old igniter from inside the oven.

What I cannot determine is where the igniter terminates in my model. I have combed the internet and Googled this thing to death. Is it underneath, or will I have to pull the darned thing out and access the wiring from the back? I have pulled out the drawer, and see some wires underneath, but I cannot determine if those lead to the igniter. I even tugged them a little to see if I could feel the movement in my igniter wires, but there is a lot of insulation back there and that could be impeding that little experiment.

I have reviewed the Diagram and Parts list on this site for my model, but I can't seem to find a wiring diagram.

I just don't want to pull the thing out from the wall and mess with the gas connection if I can get to it from underneath the oven.

Thanks for any insight anyone can give...

Hi.

One lead from the ignitor should be connected to the safety gas valve underneath, behind the drawer and the other one to the wire going up to the controls. You can pull on it to find witch one is it, just don't brake it.
Also remember, that you can always splice this wires using the ceramic wire nuts.

Thank you.

Simon.

Thank you for your prompt reply -

Since the idea of splicing anything makes me more nervous than messing with the gas does, I think I will pull the oven out to access the wiring, now that I know (thanks to you!) that one of the wires terminates there.

Also, I did not get any ceramic wire nuts with my part, so running to the store would be my only option for that.

:-)

Thanks again!
