Question GE Double Oven
Model Number: RBD306PDB10   Brand: GE   Age: More than 10 years

Both Doors (top and Bottom) will not close: There is about a 14 gap: So Oven continues to report door open when I try to use it. I have to use spacers (folded cardboard) and jimmy the doors shut. Needless to say this is rather inconvenient and probably not safe.

At first I thought it was the hinges and started looking to that.. but this prove to be a complicated process of removing the doors, also I don't think the hinges are the problem: Since both doors have the same problem and we only the top oven.

Strangely enought the AutoClean process seems to work and the doors are automatically lock during this process. However they never unlock. I have to power off the appliance to reset the entire thing.

So I this confirms my suspicion that it's not the hinges.



I am thinking it is something to do the with the locking mechanism?

Maybe it needs some WD40 ?
Any Help suggestions ?

Correction the gap is 1/4 in not 14
