Model Number: RG-97 Brand: Frigidaire Age: More than 10 years
I purchaced a replacement element for my very old(so old no parts place recognized the model #but I have the appliance manual in my hand so I KNOW it's the right #' and the # is stamped behind the hinge) oven, so I bought a similar(GE WB44X200 element) to my element, however it has a depth(space from mounting plate to electrical contacts) of 2.5 " whereas my original element depth is only approx. 1 inch. There is enough physical room behind the oven to the outer oven wall, and wire to mount the element, but I'm afraid that the excess lenth of element surrounded by the insulation (fiberglss I'm assuming) that it will catch fire (I forgot to mention this is a wall oven).
Thank you, Tim Ads By Google Related Models |

If one of the terminals ends up reaching the case you could end up knocking out an oven thermostat or relay. It looks like you have a GM Frigidaire, double check the model number. Also look closely at the base of the original element. Are there any numbers on it. |

Thank you for answering me,if what you calling a base is the mounting plate then yes I can barely make out the #'s 61133474 plus there looks to be 3 sets of spec #'s(watts and volts).OBTW, By my measurement I had an extra 1 inch till the case, if that tells us anything.
thank you so much; tim |
