Model Number: J B517G R1WH Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
The oven will not turn off when the knob is in the off position. If I take the knob off and use a pair of pliers to get it in just the right position it will turn off. The problem is the position changes and it could take several tries to get it to turn off. Is it the thermostat? Please help.

Hi.
If the off position on the thermostat is changing you need to replace the thermostat and most likely the knob. Please check the model number, the one you provided is not coming up. Thank you. Simon.
