This is the same as my other post, but I missed the C in the previous model number. Gas oven first indicated problems with a smell of gas before igniting, now does not ignite. However, the glow plug/ignitor still glows. Could this part be losing strength or going out? Or could it be something else?

replace the glow plug. that is the problem. it is not strong enough to open the gas valve, and if it does, it opens it up a little, causing the gas smell and no ignition. tom

Thank you. I ordered a new ignitor, however, I was quite disappointed I could not do it through your service. My model number pulled up Maytag parts and ignitors were nowhere to be found. I even called your 877 phone number and the person was unable to help me. I will, however, keep you in mind in the future. The model, by the way, was a Hardwick gas oven. I am currently at work and don't have the numbers handy, but you might want to get someone on being able to buy parts after things get figured out.
