Recently my oven's surface light started staying on even though there are no burners on or oven in use. I have turned the oven on, used it, and then when I turn it off the light goes off but only for a few hours and then it comes back on. What is wrong and is this dangerous?

Hi.

Most likely the problem is within the oven thermostat.
Contacts 3 and 4 stays closed all the time. Unfortunately this thermostat is no longer available.

Here the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Crosley CE3832SRW RANGE- S/C F/S ELE | AppliancePartsPros.com

More damage to the thermostat could cause the oven "run away" condition and possible fire.

Thanks for the quick response. After recieving it I noticed that it is the light that indicates that the OVEN is on Not the one that shows the burners are on. Does this change your answer? Thank you again in advance.
