I have a kitchenaid electric oven that is at least 7 years old. I was baking a cake the other night and it would not cook in the center. I left it in a bit longer, then longer... And the outside just kept getting more and more burnt and the inside stayed undercooked. I also tried baking a potato and it just never seemed to cook in the center. What could be causing this problem?

A model number may help others help you.

Check that both elements work in the oven.

If one of them is shot it will also take longer for the oven to come ready.
