Ice from ice maker stuck together/sometimes stays in maker
 

My Admiral top freezer unit makes ice but it is often stuck together in a lump or sometimes frozen into the ice maker, jamming it. I am wondering if this is a defrost timer problem or whether it has to do with the ice maker itself. I would appreciate some advice on how to trouble shoot this.

That is the number on the refrigerator. When I look online I see lots of people asking questions about that model number and sometimes I see it referred to as Admiral/Maytag HMG21149. I don't know what else to give you. I did see a reference to some models that had another digit like HMG211490 or 211497 However, mine does not have that. If you like, you could just address this as a general question about the problem rather than this particular model. However, if I need parts I would need to know how to get them.

The problem you are describing may be caused by fluctuating temperature, leaking water valve or malfunctioning ice maker.
