Model Number: WB19K5031 Brand: Kenmore Age: Less than 1 year
The RR gas valve on my cook top is stuck. The part number is WB19K5031.
The valve is not available anyplace and this unit is only 10 years old. The other valves are available and they look the same physically. My question is will one of the other valves work on this RR burner. The RR burner is a small simmer burner. Perhaps the other valves flow too much gas? If so, can I restrict it somehow? I am using propane also. Thanks Ads By Google Related Models |

Hi.
I don't think you can use any other valves, but you can try to fix this one. Turn off the gas. Carefully remove the top portion of the valve. STOP! Memories the order in witch all the little parts going in. Soak the shaft in cleaning solution for as long as needed. Do not force anything. You may need to lubricate the inside conical piece with hi temp grease. Good luck. Post the results. Simon.

It seems odd that GE says the RR valve is special. It may be; however, the valve for the front works perfectly and is physically identical. I am using propane and that may make a difference. I also adjusted the center screw for the minimum setting like I had done on all of the others originally. |

Congratulation on your success.
