So last night there was a "pop" and some small flames in the back of the oven. The heating element was fried. We replaced the element which was simple enough. However....the new element does not heat up. It works fine and heats if we plug it into the broiler connections and all the stovetop elements work fine. Could it have blown something else in the connections? Why does everything else work except the new element?

You will have to remove the rear cover and check the wiring from the control board (Item 16 in Section 2).

If OK then probably the element also took out the control board when it blew.
