I heard a pop when my oven was on, then saw a flare coming from the top back of the oven. Not sure if it was the light or connector of the heating element. Now the oven does not work. The top range works and the clock works. The oven light hasn't work in years.

A model number may help other help you.

Unplug the unit.
I would check the broil element first as it may have bit the dust (exploded).
If OK then you will have to open it up and find what failed.

Often when there is a short/spark the oven control board will also be blown by the voltage spike.
