Model Number: 911 36665790 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
Problem. Error code F2 displays on the clock.
I know this looks similar to the many others with an F2 code, but I've done some checks and I don't really want to just replace parts to see if it fixes it. I'd like to find the bad part if possible. Fault codes on the website identified this as a possible temp probe problem. The probe read 1085 Ohms. I think I read somewhere that 1K to 1.1K was normal. It read the same at the probe and from back of ERC to the probe. The oven relay coil checked good at 1.4Kohms per OMROD data sheet. It is an OMROD pn G5LE-1117P-T130 24VDC. Unable to determine by PN on relay if it is supposed to be the standard or reverse layout. I believe it is the standard since pin 3 to 1 is open. The broil relay is the same part nr and pin 1 makes to pin 4. That doesn't really prove that the bake relay will ever make to pin 3 or not. Maybe that's still the problem. The Control board nrs are many. The top one is a TOTTORI Sanyo Electric mod nr AG1T2XG001CN-AA. The Appliancepartspros website repair tips said that my F2 code on my Kenmore (Roper) oven meant that “Oven temperature is too high 1. Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).”. Not sure how to check if they're welded without desoldering. Any help with this would be great. Hi Curt,
You are trying to make more or less simple troubleshooting more complicated. In the situation you described can be only two suspects: the oven sensor or the control board. Per the test result you posted the oven sensor is good. So, the correction is to replace the control board. - The control board Part number: WB27T10081 Gene. P.S. This range made by GE, not by Roper.

Just not a big fan of "easter egging" If a $10 relay is the problem, why am I replacing a $110 board? That is probably 95% fine!
Just hoping for a little more tech data..,, A schematic of the board? I doubt I can find that.. Thanks for the info... Curt |

Curt,
I understand your filling but GE does not provide such information. I don't think it is just a relay. More likely it is a microchip. Gene.

rgr that .. Oh well.
I got it fixed now anyway. I wanted to wait for another test after all the exploration. It appears the cracked/loose connection at the probe might have been the problem. Glad I didn't order the part yet. It seems to be good now. Thanks Curt |

You are welcome. I'm glad you found how to fix it. Good luck.
