Question Thermador Gas Cooktop
Model Number: GPS364GDS   Brand: Thermador   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
The 2 left burners do not come on, no gas flow to the burners, spark igniter continues to spark at all 4 burners. The 2 right burners come on but the igniters continue sparking at all 4 burners. To solve the problem temporarily, I have disconnected the igniter switches on the 2 right burners and and light them manually. after disconnecting the 2 right igniters, I turned on the 2 left burners and the igniters continue to spark but no gas flow. A repairman is trying to unscrew the venturi to get to the solenoid, but he has not been successful in removing the venturi. His next suggestion is to cut the burners bases with a torch to try to remove the venturi! Could this be a potentiameter problem that can be solved from the front panel? Or is it necessary to get into the spark module, solenoid, and simmer control and valves inside.

Default Removing the top bolt

You need to use a 3/4" drill bit to drill out the venturi tubes. Only drill enought to remove the bolt like top and then use a screwdriver and happer to rid yourself of what is left overhanging. then, remove the top plates and then you can removed the top piece to gain access to the spark control module. Sounds like that is the problem.

By the way, how did you remove the front panel to gain access to the spark switch near the potentiometer? Does it pull off after removing the bottom screws or do you need to remove something from the top?
