I have a 10 yr old Viking cooktop which has a problem.
One burner will not ignite when turned on by its corresponding knob. However it will turn on if I turn another burner knob on with the gas on. So the ignitor is working.
Seems like its a electrical switch in the corresponding knob itself...but what exactly should I look for? and which part would I need to order to replace it .Seems like I may need to look if maybe its just a bad or loose connection before I go through the trouble of calling a repair man, which will cost me around $200. or more...depending on the part he must order! Is there a cheaper part from another brand that would work as well?I live in san jose california and not sure who to call for this kind of repair . Most people I have called for service have not been too knowledgeable....
