Default oven will not light
Model Number: fgf326ase   Brand: Frigidaire   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
My son has a frigidaire gas stove and suddenly the oven will not light. The gas flows fine and the rest of the stove works. He is a disabled vet so not able to get down there and check it so I had a look and I think it has an electronic ignition but not sure. Could that be the case and is it an easy enough job to replace that I might be able to do it for him? I have repaired my dryer and washer before so I do have a little experience but not an expert.Thank you for any help you can provide, Morgan

Hi.

The most common problem is bad oven ignitor. Use the multimeter to check the ignitor's continuity. If it's open or glow red - replace it.

The ignitor Part number: 5303935066

Part number: 5303935066

Here are breakdown diagram and Burner replacement parts for Frigidaire FGF326ASE Frigidaire/gas Range | AppliancePartsPros.com

If the ignitor checks good then you need to check the gas valve and the control board.Let me know if you'll need more help.

Thank you. Post the results.

Simon.

Ok, I spoke to him few minutes ago and I know that the broiler doesnt work as well. I have a multimeter but I hate to admit that I am not sure how to use it I know, typical female right? lol So if I can figure out how to use it I would check for 120v reading? If it is the Igniter, is it easy to replace? Sorry for all the questions but one can't learn if one doesn't ask.
Thank you soooo much for your help, Morgan

Hi.

You can ask any questions. I'll do my best to answer. With the oven set for bake check for 120VAC going to the ignitor. If you are getting 120V - replace the ignitor.
If no voltage - unplug the unit and check the oven gas valve for continuity. If it's open - replace it.

The gas valve Part number: 3203459

Part number: 3203459

The ignitor is held by two screws and should not be a problem to replace.

Post the results and questions.

Simon.

Hi.

You can gain the access to the control module by pulling the range out and taking off the control panel rear cover.
Do not forget to unplug the unit.

Thank you.

So I take it I need both parts? I just noticed while checking the parts link, so the control module is actually the clock/timer? Lol, why dont they just say that the timer is out? It is an 'oven' not a spaceship after all.
