The knobs on my stovetop are difficult to turn. Sometimes they refuse to turn entirely and you have to wait until "they are in the mood." This is especially true after you have used the stove for a little while. In that situation, one of the knobs will not turn until the stove cools.

What parts do I need to replace?

Looks like the infinite switches are bad. The Gaggenau calls

them "Energy regulator" Part number: 605926

I appreciate your help and am getting ready to order the energy regulators, but I have not been able to figure out how to remove the ceramic glass plate to replace the regulators.

The stovetop is dropped into a granite top and the stovetop sits over the oven. Do I have to pull out the oven and push the stovetop from the bottom or is there a magical away to lift up the ceramic glass plate, perhaps by running a putty knife under the top. I have spent too many hours searching for this answer.

If I have to pull out the oven, how is that done?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi.

Everything depends how the cooktop was installed.
Try the putty knife first.
If that doesn't help - remove the oven from the cabinet. Open the oven door and look for screws on the both sides holding the oven to the cabinet.
