Oven Repair (including Ranges and Cooktops)

I recently replaced the oven bake element because it was worn. Now the oven will not get hot. I have to put it very high just to get it to 325 and it really doesn't hold the temperature.

When you turn the Bake on does the element get cherry red?

No - I've turned it up as high as it can go and it has never gotten red.
