My Whirlpool Cooktop Scs3617 has four burners. I use baking soda soak in water and clean up yesterday. I use alot of waters and spill over the burner units. And also powders are clot and spill over it. Ignitors are also wet. I let those burners dried out and remove those powders. There may some remains.

Now after 6 hours, only one burner work.
When I turned on other burners, I heard clicking sounds and see sparks from the working one as well. I think electrodes are in parallel.

I assume that ignition module is still OK bcoz one is still working.

Any thoughts or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Hi.

The model number that you provided is incorrect.
But in general in you case clean the ignitors from any foreign materials, clean the burner opennigs, using a pin or needle.
Let everything dry for 24hrs before using.

Thank you. Post the results.

Simon.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.
Actually, I couldn't check on the appliance. But i have manual left from the previous owner and it is close to scs3617 (30") one.
Here is the image I found on I'net. It is similar to mine and model is scs3017.UserPostedImage
