I have a Modena 120V 1200W "Napoli" Pizza Express "countertop pizza oven which trips the GFCI 2-3 minutes into the preheat process.

I hope to salvage this (pricey) unit; where is a good place to start? I have some basic tools like digital multimeter, soldering station, and kill-a-watt.

I do not think there is something wrong with your oven. Use a regular outlet with a regular 15 Amps circuit breaker instead of the GFCI and everything should be good.

Thanks, Gene! I did just that, and the thing works like a champ! Shame I have no non-GFI outlets in the kitchen, but I'll manage :)
